This past Sunday was another very meaningful time in worship. Our pastor spoke about courage and loyalty to Jesus. Imagine the context of “take up your cross” meaning not a metaphorical dying to self but simply “dying” in the literal sense. For most of the world and history, this is what being a Christian meant. We just do not get that sometimes, right?
Communion is always meaningful, since we do not take too many Sunday morning opportunities to celebrate it. We set up tables and people served themselves intinction-style where you dip the wafer in the wine (or grape juice in our case). We utilized our big stretch fabric for a vibe video during the time people walked up for communion.
One thing that is usually a treat is when it seems our worship takes a spontaneous direction. We were singing the very well known “You Are My King” and broke it down then sang a new song together with the words “you are amazing…my king.” We did not repeat this second service.
Here are the songs, with an original to download:
- Everybody Praise the Lord – Lincoln Brewster
- Forever – Chris Tomlin
- Majestic – Lincoln Brewster
