This picture says a lot about our family excursion to San Diego on Wednesday. We took our kids to see the Nutcracker Ballet, presented by the San Diego Civic Youth Ballet in Balboa Park. It was a decent production with an amazing number of kids twirling–I actually only nodded off once! My son, Ethan, gave me a summary of the libretto before the show. Before I was fooled into thinking he was cultured beyond repair, he confessed this knowledge came from a cartoon episode of Tom and Jerry.
After the ballet we went to a huge mall off the 163 and ate Chicago style pizza at Pizzeria Uno. Yum! Then, of course, the mall had an Apple Store. Even my wife was mesmerized by the gadgets–laptops, iPods, and keyboards so thin you could use it as a spatula. The iPhone fun made me wish my Sprint contract ended quickly!
The joys of homeschooling allowed us both an educational and meaningful day. The weather was amazing, which is why I am still loving California–minus the traffic, of course.
