EXERCISE LOG WEEK ONE: Hiking, running

Running

I am embarking on the next phase of my life and health goals.  After losing 50 or so pounds from dieting and maintaining that for 8 months, I need to get in shape.

This week I finally got my running shoes out and hiking boots on. Here is the score for the week:

  • Monday-hike 2 miles
  • Wednesday-run 1.25 miles
  • Saturday-run 2.5 miles

Let’s see if I can keep it up!

  1. Wow, that’s really cool, Rich. I’m doing a program called Couch to 5k. It’s a 9 week program designed to get you from being totally out of shape to running a 5k in 9 weeks. I’m in week 4, and I’ll be done just in time to run a local race in the middle of July. I’m down 46 pounds, and the need to not only stay thin but also get toned is pretty strong for me right now.
Pretty amazing what happens at 40, eh?

  9. Good call on the further excercise. I’m about 10 months into my new life long pursuit of health, and it feels great! Keep it up, the rewards are so incredible.
