My New Car: The Honda Element toy I just bought

Richcarelement I love my new Honda Element EX 5-speed manual vehicle.  I am turning a certain age in a little over a week and it seemed appropriate to shed the 18-year old Acura Legend sedan I have had for several years.  And, thanks to the blessing of my sweet wife, we went out and bought me a car last night!  This 4-wheel-drive car is so cool, its a Honda and it has a SUBWOOFER baby!  On top of that, it makes the grade with easily carting my musical gear around or my family of four.

Element I loved using the Costco Auto Buying program and got the car for $200 below dealer invoice with a killer rate.  Yeah, I thought of buying a bigger SUV with power or a cool little Civic or Jetta, but this seemed to be the right fit for our needs and it even matches my special Hollywood edition Oakley sunglasses.  Also, this car gets decent mileage.  The other SUV I looked at would be almost an additional $1000 in cost just for gas, let alone considering the insurance. Hondaenginelement Anyway, this car won’t take the sting of aging away, but it sure fun to drive with the XM radio blaring full blast!  I am thankful to friends who gave worthy advice about buying a car and about this car in particular.  My son likes it much better now that I can actually get the key out of the ignition and have less anger issues during the carpool in the morning.

**I forgot to mention, sorry, Crown Motors in Redding is where I bought the car.  The internet sales guys, Dylan and Adam, were cool to work with.

  1. Looking good! I haven’t seen that color on that car, yet. I turned a “certain age” just a couple of weeks ago, and I’m going to be looking at a new rig for that occasion next fall. Probably a pick-up of some kind. I’ll look into the Costco program when I get to that point.

  5. An excellent grab! I myself got the new Honda Civic LX. Curious though, why did you lean towards Honda? What was your reasoning?

  9. Michael…need you even ask! 😉
Cannot go wrong with Honda…I owned a Civic for years and an Acura. They hold their value in resale for a reason. So, reliability, quality, and safety were a big part of the reasoning.

  13. Honda. An admirable choice. I, myself, am a Jetta owner. I’m told by some websites that this means I am a “young, punky, male, nutso aggressive driver.”
Which is true. Except for the “young and punky” part.

Should’ve done the V-dub. Might have made you feel younger.

  17. I bought a Honda Accord 3.5 years ago … I’ll never buy any thing else, ever.
I like the Element even more than the Accord! Honda makes good stuff. I’m into their dirt bikes too.
