From the family: Holiday pics and more!

Christmas2006webI know I missed sending out Christmas cards this year, putting up lights on the house and even decorating our traditional purple-decorated tree. However, Billy Bass Santa did make it to the mantle and we had a grand time with family this season.

I thank God this season for blessing me with a wonderful family!  We have sang badly with our new American Idol DVD game, eaten turkey and trimmings, devoured too much chocolate and enjoyed the company of some of our San Jose clan on both sides.

The best gift response was my wife screaming at the opening of her new video iPod and my son eating a giant chocolate bar.

EthancandyWe did the unthinkable and cashed in my kids gift cards at Target the day after Christmas (thanks mom).  The crowds were amazing.

I am thankful for my health and hope to be back in full force singing, blogging, studying, writing and so forth.  My surgery was just a few weeks ago, but I am beginning to feel normal.  (As if I knew what that really felt like).

Kidschristmas_1Enough of the rambling, I am making this post mostly for my mom and out-of-state family, but I wish my blogging friends, ministry colleagues, Austin friends, and music fans (haha) a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  I pray God’s full blessing on you to be realized and for God’s favor on you and yours.

From Rich (and the family…Tammy, Emilie and Ethan)

SantadademilieHow was your holiday?  I would LOVE to hear from you.

  1. Sounds like you guys had a great Christmas at your house. I think the highlight of ours (other than being with my boys, of course) was my oldest son waking up to find a bass guitar under the tree. He was picking out some scales in no time. He’s already a fairly accomplished violin player, so I don’t think he’ll have any trouble with the bass.

i’m at least mildly curious about the “purple christmas tree” tradition.

  9. PURPLE is the chosen color (with silver) for our Christmas tree and trimmings. It is very in now, but we have had these colors for years since my wife is always ahead of the curve.
