The Carpool and Coffee

CoffeecupWell, I am a lover of coffee.  Lattes, caps (extra dry), espresso straight, African-Indonesian-South American Roasts, Peets, Starbucks (a bit beneath me) and of course frapps, iced and you name it.  I own a cool stainless steel machine and have been known to have a professional barista at parties!  Well, I roped my intern Zach to help once.  But, anyway, you get the picture.

On the way to school in the daily carpool, my 8-year-old son asked to taste my iced-quad-shot-sugarfree caramel latte.  And….he loved it.  Yikes.  I am passing on my coffee addiction to my son.

The other note about the carpool this morning is that my daughter started Jr. High this week and is going nuts about it.  She used to give me a real kiss.  Today it was an "air" kiss.  I’ll take that.  But, my oh my how time flies.  Soon she will think I am very uncool and ask me to drop her off down the street.  Well, probably not, but you get the picture.

  1. I’m not quite done with my caffeine-free dry spell yet! We have exactly the same tastes in coffees. I used to get the quad iced caramel latte before I hit the wagon this year. That is one serious cuppa joe you’ve got pictured there. My 40 days will be up soon, and then I’ll have one at some point after that. Life’s too short to not enjoy good coffee.
Today was my oldest son’s first day of high school. Luckily, I still get the occasional hug, but they’re definitely getting fewer and farther between. I wonder sometimes where my two little boys went. It seems like just yesterday they had their trucks and Legos spread all over the floor.

  5. I have to say, using the Rich Kirkpatrick 1 to 10 scale. That your foam would rate 6.7! I will have to come and see if I can help you out.
    Your faithful intern/professional barista

  9. On the Starbucks Cypress Blvd scale, the foam has to at least be an 8. But, of course my scale is always a tough scale, I presume…

  13. I am offended kinda. Lets just say that the Zach scale is the same as yours, and my foam on my best days has hit a 9.
