Drive & Picnic at Lassen National Park

NEW PHOTO ALBUM HERE

On my Monday day off, we had the joy of borrowing our friend’s
convertible and driving the mere 50 miles to Mt. Lassen Volcanic
National Park.  The vistas are breathtaking and it is only a short
drive away!  Most of the drive is scenery all the way there and back,
so Jackie’s convertible was a treat for this short outing.  We were
spontaneous, so on the way we stopped in Shingleton and bought some
food and drinks.  Indeed, I will go back soon and do more than picnic.
I want to return and climb to the Lassen Peak and the boiling mud pools
called Bumpas Hell.  Very cool.

Wanna go on a hike with me?

  1. Wow, looks like a nice destination! Even better with a convertible.
Hey, if you read my blog with a reader, you might want to update it. I upgraded from Blogger to WordPress, which uses a different syndication system. You should have my latest post by now, called “Pardon the dust”. If not, your feed is probably outdated.

I apologize for hijacking this blog post, Rich, but a lot of my readers come from your site! Thanks a ton.
