My mom is in town with us. She spent Easter weekend with us, coming to NorCal all the way from Georgia. She is a California native, like I am, but recently moved to Georgia near Atlanta. Anyway, after leading worship in three services and overseeing activity in the other 5 worship venues I was looking forward to a day with the family. We spent the day in downtown Chico and had lunch at an authentic BBQ place. Of course, not of the wonderful central Texas kind (brisket, etc.) but of the southern kind. Wow, brick ovens do make a difference. Smokin Mo’s is the place to go in Chico!! Also, Chico, which is 70 miles south of Redding, is the closest place to get freshly roasted Peet’s coffee beans. Yum! I can’t wait to report on our Easter…back here Tuesday!
