What does pizza and worship have to do with one another? My pastor, Bill Giovannetti, gave a tremendously delicious sermon about this last weekend. [Listen to his message here September 24-25; Core Values: Worship] Lou Malnati’s Pizza is amazing. Bill knows, since he is a Chicago native and the one who suggested that I try it during a trip to the Chicago area. The pepperoni with butter crust is to die for. On this trip, Erich(a colleague traveling with me) and I almost ate a whole pizza. Which, if you are familar with deep dish, is quite a lot. Psalm 34:8 says “taste and see that the Lord is good.” This taste is like the pizza. Once you get a bite, the taste hooks you. Something good, indeed. There are so many things in our way of seeing that God is good–hurricanes, tsunamis and war to mention a few. If we neglect to look to God as our refuge, we will never have chance to taste of His goodness. When we express our worship publically, we can make an impact. Like it says in Psalm 34, our faces can be radiant. By the way, Lou Malnatis ships anywhere in the US!
