Worship Recap & Setlist: November 27-8, 2010 #sundaysetlists

Recap: It has been very enjoyable playing in the Rancho Community Church worship team the past months. These guys are talented and have a big heart! One unique thing to Rancho is use of multiple worship leads during the service, which I like. The message by Scott Treadway  today was about immigration and a biblical reflection on that topic. It was a good challenge, going beyond the political lines already drawn in the sand to issues of the heart. Check the link above to hear it.

One fun and embarrassing moment came last night when our guitar play Travis used pliers to remove an earbud that became lodged inside my ear! Time for ear molds? 😉

Setlist: Here is the list of songs from this weekend.

  • Where The Spirit of the Lord Is – Chris Tomlin & Christi Nockels
  • Our God – Chris Tomlin
  • Unfailing Love – Chris Tomlin
  • Cannons – Phil Wickham
  • Arms Open Wide – Hillsong

How was your worship weekend?

  5. rich –
i am curious about the multiple lead concept. what is it that you like about it? i have heard people critique this model, some going as far to say anything that has two heads is a monster…

    love to hear your thoughts…

    thanks – terry

    1. Terry,
I like the fact that it broadens the people you can connect with and it gives variety in how a song sounds and is led. Now, I can see the disadvantage being it make take longer for the church to relate to a particular leader. I know people who rotate worship leaders, but do it like rotating preachers–a weekend at a time is taken up by one primary leader.

One thing I have always enjoyed in settings where I have been the primary leader is having a female co-lead. Women make up at least half of the congregation and this makes so much sense. I see having multiple leaders being a logical extension of this thinking.

Also, a deeper bench means if someone has a cold you are covered!

  13. I often have another person lead a few songs in the same set I am leading in. We did it this morning too. It’s seems to work fine for us and each person leading brings a different feel.
Our band was super tight today, everything clicked both services.

    Set list was –

Your Grace is Enough – Maher/Tomlin
Everlasting God – Lincon Brewsters Version
    Cannons – Phil Wickham
This is Our God – Tomlin
Let The Worshippers Arise – Pocket Full Of Rocks
    People of God – Gungor
