Worship Recap & Set List: November 1, 2009

Recap: This past Sunday was an interesting challenge. It was the first Sunday after announcing the departure of our pastor Greg Sidders. The emotions with such an occasion are hard to read. but I felt our song selection was appropriate. It was quite impressive and healthy how our elders announced the news upfront and were available to talk with people at the close of service. The transparency of this and other things they are doing really are helping our people process the change. My daughter helped me lead worship once again this past Sunday. (I will post the video when it becomes available here).

Set List: As I mentioned, we had to consider the temperature of our people. Here is what we came up with:

  • Come Before – Parachute Band
  • Hosanna – Paul Baloche
  • All We Need – Charlie Hall
  • You Never Let Go – Matt Redman
  • Hosanna – Brooke Frasier

  1. Hey man…Living it up as a youth pastor in Houston now…

Hate to hear the news about your pastor leaving. It can be a difficult time, but God’s grace is enough. Hosanna is a great word to cry out to God in these moments. Nice choice. Good set list.

I hope your week is blessed…

  5. Hi Rich,
Leadership changes are difficult, but it sounds like you’re fortunate to have a leadership team that’s functioning well, and bringing the grace of God to your folks in this situation.

I read your comments earlier in the week about your pastor leaving, and watched the anniversary video on the Sundridge site from September. Looks like there have been a lot of good things going on there through the years, and I know the plan of God is for that to continue.

Keep doing the great job you’re doing there, ministering to the people of God and helping them find His presence, and thanks for sharing what’s happening with all of us.

Looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks.

  9. Hey Rich – I stumbled on your blog from a random link on someone else’s blog. I am making the assumption that you are the same Rich Kirkpatrick I went to SJCC with YEARS ago and who ministered for a short time at my home church of Hillside Church/South Valley Christian/West Hills (the name has changed multiple times). If this is indeed you – send my regards to Tami – I’ll tell Serla I stumbled across your path!
