Worship Recap, Baptism Video, Set List: Annual Celebration Worship, September 20, 2009

RECAP: Sunridge’s Annual Celebration event began with a worship service in the morning, then we came back in the evening for a carnival and baptism worship service. This Sunday is always a treat. This being my third event, I expected it to be a special time. But, for several reasons it was even more so this year.

First, this was the 20th anniversary of our church. In 1989 our church was founded in a living room. Today, nearly 1,000 people call us their church home. We talked mostly about this in the evening, concluding with a history video.

Personally, this weekend meant a lot to me because I met Daniel, seen in the screen shot of the video, and had the amazing privilege of sharing Jesus with him. He found Christ this week and was baptized! He wrote a song in the process of asking faith questions and sang that at the service. It was one of the most amazing moments for me so far at Sunridge. Our people were thrilled to see this young man come to faith and share that fact in such a skillful, powerful way.

Another reason for me was meeting a new friend Simon (all the way from Singapore) and having my former intern Zach as house guests. I met Simon since we both attended the Christian Web Conference at BIOLA. Zach served with me for four years in Redding, CA before I moved here.

The times of worship in the morning were potent, but so was the evening. I will put both set lists up. If we get video footage available, I will also link and post those as well.
