Blogs, Twitter & Social Media vs. the Art of Listening

Proverbs 18:2

Fools have no interest in understanding;
they only want to air their own opinions.

(New Living Translation)

Understanding takes listening. Am I guilty of simply being a fool who only wants to air my opinions here online in the social media world, or am I listening and contributing to the story of the lives of real people? The chatter online is deafening at times with links shared, opinions opined and now we have twitter. I love twitter, by the way. But, if we use these tools to simply express opinions and not listen, we are not being social at all and according to Solomon of the Bible we are simply fools.

I confess I have done this. How about you?

  1. I am also guilty of this, I try to listen, but online it’s easier to say and move on.
