Worship Recap & Set List: March 1, 2009

Worship Recap: Greg is still preaching on The Sermon On The Mount, challenging us to be more like Jesus in mercy, thoughtfulness and  and to be bold in our prayers. Our music time was complimented with partaking in communion.

One funny thing, my keyboard had an intermittent failure during the first hour. Apparently, a battery is in need of replacement which caused the issue. I fixed it with a setting change between services, thankfully.

Worship Set List: This week we introduced another song from Steve Fee, “How Beautiful the Blood”

  • Awesome Is The Lord Most High – Tomlin
  • Glorious One – Fee
  • Amazing Grace (My Chains) – Tomlin
  • Black and Blue is My Heart – Kirkpatrick
  • How Beautiful the Blood – Fee

  1. That’s a great set. We also introduced Beautiful the Blood this week (along with about 6 other people on Fred McKinnon’s site). Just curious how it went with your crowd?

  5. Brian… it went great…that song is a keeper. The lyrics go somewhere unlike much that is out there. Musically, it is interesting, and might take some time to feel comfortable but worked fine for a first try.

  9. We did Awesome is the Lord this week also! I think Beautiful the Blood might be the song of choice for Easter 2009 at a lot of churches. I’ve seen it being introduced quite a bit the last couple of weeks. It’s one I’m considering for Easter.

  13. Hey Rich! The Steve Fee songs are really HOT right now. I’m almost embarrassed to say that I don’t know a single one of them! But, we’re plugging along, trying to introduce new songs at a very methodical rate so we don’t upset anybody. We play challenging songs two weeks in a row as a prelude before attempting to use them congregationally.
It’s encouraging to see you using your original compositions in worship! I am trying to do the same thing at our Saturday night service, although my Sunday pastor is less open to the idea. You want a fresh song, Pastor? I just finished this one YESTERDAY!!!

Glad I could visit again to see what you are up to…
