Worship Recap & Set List: September 28, 2008

RECAP: Today at the Sunridge we continued our “Give Love Away” with this week being about loving God.  The Great Commandment was our main text and used to choose our music set.  Once again, I was happy to have Bob co-lead with me.  One advantage to having multiple worship leaders is that from a practical standpoint the worship lead vocalists each get a break.  SInging full blast at 8:30 AM really takes its toll and so that is a welcomed thing as far as I am concerned.  Besides that, allowing more leaders to use their gifts will broaden out worship team and enrich our worship experiences.

SET LIST: Our set list was pretty upbeat this week.  I especially enjoyed Bob’s renditions of “Salvation is Here” and “Sweetly Broken”.  Lincoln Brewsters “Love the Lord Your God” was a perfect match to the theme of the day.  Here are the songs:

  • Salvation is Here – Joel Houston
  • Love the Lord Your God – Lincoln Brewster
  • A Thousand Hallelujahs – Mark Roach
  • Sweetly Broken – Jeremy Riddle
  • Here I Am to Worship – Tim Hughes

How was your worship weekend? Do you use multiple worship leaders?  If so, how has that worked for you?

  1. I’m finally being able to put new lead vocals in lead, mainly female vocals. I had one of our female vocalists lead Hosanna yesterday. It definitely brings freshness to the mix, instead of just me all the time. I get tired of myself. Great set. Did you ever look at doing my song?

  5. I too love the benefits of using multiple worship leaders. One of the benefits I really enjoy is it allows me to kind of play a Paul Schaffer Role in the band. I can focus on what I’m doing on keys solely and also pay more attention to the rest of the band.

  13. I am one of two worship leaders at Carson Valley Christian in Minden NV. I must say that I love having a partner in leading. It is great to be able to be off the stage and watch my team in worship, it also gives me fresh perspective to be a part of the congregation every other weekend. Plus, isn’t it nice to have a break once in awhile?
