Worship Recap & Set List: September 21

RECAP: Another big weekend at the Sunridge Community Church.  This week we had communion, after leaving this out for months.  The timing was right even though the planning was short.  It was worth it, especially with the theme of Christ’s love for us.  The transcendent moment for me this week was in our second service with Bob leading “Sweetly Broken”.

SET LIST: The new song for us this week is one many already know well called “Sweetly Broken” by Jeremy Riddle.  Bob Huestis is one of our main volunteer worship leaders and guitarists who powerfully led us in this song.  We also did a song I wrote called “The Greatest Gift” which if you are interested can get on CCLI.com or here:  sheet music or mp3.

Here are the songs:

  • Happy Day – Tim Hughes
  • Beautiful One – Tim Hughes
  • My Savior God – Aaron Shust
  • Sweetly Broken – Jeremy Riddle
  • The Greatest Gift – Rich Kirkpatrick
  • Great Is Thy Faithfulness – arr. Lincoln Brewster

How was your worship weekend?  In what moment in it did you hear God speak to you?

  1. Tonight, I’m going to meet with next week’s leader, and I’m going to show him a couple of your songs, as well as a few others. Hopefully a Rich Kirkpatrick original will make it into our set list next week!

  5. I led worship for a Father Son Retreat up in the mountains this weekend. I was able to bring one of my boys up with me. It’s was really great to have Dad’s and sons of all ages crying out to God, dancing for Him, restoring relationships and reigniting passion.
    Rich,

Curious about communion and the 6 month stop. What was the reason behind it?

  9. Craig…Not six months…three! We had our pastor gone for 1/2 that time is why. We do communion as a rule with the messages that fit it best. I would prefer a schedule, but it seems good to do it when it fits the context. The only downside is that it means we might have lapse in doing it if we do not check the calendar often enough.

  13. Hey, we did Sweetly Broken as well this week. The reading of Isaiah 53 preceded our singing of that song which was followed by our communion time.We concluded this segment with The Stand. This segment was the most powerful for me personally. It was a very emotional time for me to be reminded that it was my ugliness that Christ took on. Thank you Jesus!!!
