Worship Recap & Setlist: August 3

RECAP: Today Bob was my co-worship leader today.  I really like it when I can share leadership of the service vocally or otherwise.  After all, my church might get bored of 50 weeks of my face up there!  And, Bob has a worship leader’s heart that our church is impacted by.  Its a “win win” as they say.  One worship transition was something I took from our Epic High School worship night.  I explained confession through using the Greek word for it: homolegeo.  This word means not just admitting or telling, but agreeing with how God sees it.  The church was challenged to respond to God by agreeing with Him on how he sees our sin and our sonship.

SET LIST: This weeks setlist included some favorites, especially the Delirious “Majesty.”

  • God of Wonders –  Marc Byrd, Steve Hindalong
  • Matchless – Aaron Shust
  • O Worship The King – hymn arr. by Chris Tomlin
  • From the Inside Out – Joel Houston
  • Majesty – Martin Smith, Stuart Garrard

How was your worship weekend?

  1. Ohhh…I wanna do God of Wonders again some time soon. It’s been a while since I’ve played it, and I’ve never played it at the church I’m at now. Nice set!

  5. Love Majesty…..just the chorus though. The verses are a little clinky to learn for a church I bet.
My worship weekend was stinkin busy.

  9. I see you got another fun setlist this past Sunday. I had the honor of leading some songs at a friend’s wedding. I sang..Our Great God, These Thousand Hills, and Jesus be the Center. It was great.

  13. rich,
the content and presentation of worship sunday was emotionally stirring for me. there was also a sense of liturgy in the music presented and your homilies. for me, i really like that. it brings a sense of movement and purpose to our music and corporate worship. i found my heart especially prepared to receive the word preached because of the time of worship.

practically speaking, i think it very important for you to know, the sound on the right side of the sanctuary was as perfectly balanced as i have ever heard it. kudos to the sound crew!

can we get a little more volume next week…please (insert a sheepish grin here)
