Health and Fitness Journey: 11/12/2007

Healthfitness

I am once again getting back into journaling my health and fitness efforts after moving a few weeks ago.  The extra pounds gained from the adjustment from the move to SoCal was expected but not nine pounds. (Dang!)  If you want to catch up on what I have been through in losing over 50 pounds more than a year ago and keeping that off, select "Health & Fitness" on my sidebar category list.

  • Average daily calories:  2070 (~2500 to maintain weight)
  • Weight:    204.9/goal maintain below 199 (change from a week ago -4.7)
  • Exercise:  walking the dog, 5 miles this week.

Drinking water, and getting exercise are two simple but crucial things I need to improve this week.  I walked our just a few times this past week, but need to do a bit more.  Perhaps I will get that bicycle out of the garage?

The holidays are coming, so I need to plan to journal my food intake and watch how much sleep and activity I am doing.  When tired, it is easy to snack and with the holiday spread being so readily available, the choice needs to be made now how I can plan to both be reasonable and have fun!

Part of the importance of this journey is health, but not just my physical health.  Self-control is a spiritual trait.  We all have areas where self-control is a weakness.  One of mine happens to be food of any kind.  How are you doing with your journey.

  5. Don’t feel too bad, mate. I’ve gained 6 pounds since I’ve come back from London.
I suppose the best advice is that if you can’t kick the snacking habit at least try and make it something healthy. I love dates. Apples are also good for their fiber – which makes you poo – and you can always try and go for a spicy-crispy-chicken-salad over the double heart-attack burger if you’re eating out with friends. It will help keep the mileage off the atrial-arterial walls.

  9. It’s been pretty bad lately. I haven’t been able to get back into a routine ever since I used the “smoke in the air” as an excuse not to go running.
I need a goal… Wanna do a triathalon with me in a couple of weeks? 😉
