re:create Day 3 recap: Third Day, Louis Markos, fried Chicken and more!

Tammymac The third day of re:create 2007 began with Third Day (Mac Powell and Mark Lee) giving us an un-plugged worship time.  These guys are “real” guys and accomplished artists who haveRichmarklee_1 impacted millions with their music. Louis Markos is amazing!  This fellow came to one of the early re:create conferences a few years ago and since then my mind was spinning.  Today just spun my brain further into wonder about many things.  His book, Lewis Agnonistes:  How C.S. Lewis can train us to deal with the modern and potmodern world, is a must read.  As a creative person, this lecture hit home how God has made us “sub-creators” and reveals himself when we create.

Chicken More food!  We had pork chops, fried chicken, biscuits and a true southern meal for lunch.  At dinner I got to spend some time with the Mars Hill Church dudes (Joe and Timothy) Joetim and Chris (from Canada) and my Florida friend Bobby.  After dinner I went to Steak and Shake with my friend Joel, a musician and student at Belmont University. Joel I ended up staying up even later to chat with other conference attendees at the hotel lobby bar.

One of the best things about this conference is the relationships.  I learn more from conversations with this group of people than ten books.   So, that was day three.

  1. I still can’t believe you guys have no idea what Kinder Eggs are!!
Thanks for identifying everyone else by their state or church, yet I get the designation of a whole country 😉

    Peace,

  5. I am so jealous that you got to meet Mark Lee and Mac Powell! I have been a huge fan of theirs for about ten years now, and have seen them several times in concert. Any time I see them in the media, they just come across as being the same cool, average, ordinary guys that they were before they hit it big. That’s refreshing to see, especially in the world of CCM.
